BREAKING NEWS: March of the Triumphant was going to be released as part of a four track EP, but we thought, fuck that, let's do an album instead. So now we're recording and releasing a 10-track album over the next three months. Should be available here in time for autumn in NZ (May 2015ish).

So... about the song. March OTT is a 'spoils of war' tale born from Mike's obsession with Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcast about the Mongol Empire.

This is the first ever track recorded by SLOP. It was recorded live at Chris - the drummer of SLOP's house in Johnsonville near Wellington. It was laid down at the same time as Secret Life of Plants (an eponymously titled track) using just seven mics. Then the vocals, backing vocals and a little bit of guitar were overdubbed. The finished track is pretty much what you'd hear live. minus the backing vox. The coming album will also include Sleep When You're Dead (more sludgy doom goodness) and Grave & Gun (an epic stoner doom track), which were the other two tracks recorded at the time. We'll also be adding six more to make up the ten.
